Information about caring for your wall scrollClose up view of the Asian woman artwork mounted to this silk brocade wall scroll
The painting on this wall scroll features a woman (presumabely Yang Gui-Fei) wearing and sitting near peony flowers. Included in the characters is a poem or ballad about a rendezvous in the Jade Pavilion. The poem describes many elements of serenity, and thus the title "Serenity Ballad". It was written by Li Bai (701–762AD) of the Tang Dynasty.
云 想 衣 裳 花 想 容,
春 风 拂 槛 露 华 浓。
若 非 群 玉 山 头 见,
会 向 瑶 台 月 下 逢。
The translation:
A dress imagined by clouds, a look imagined by flowers,
Spring breezes caress the threshold, a lustrous dew showers;
If no meeting occurs at the cluster of Jade Mountain peaks,
Then rendezvous at Jade Pavilion in the moonlight hours.
Unfortunately, I don't have any information about the artist who painted this.
