Close up view of the Asian woman artwork mounted to this silk brocade wall scroll
This wall scroll features a woman playing flute in the midst of a background of bamboo.
This was painted by Liu Jun of Jinan, in the Shandong Province of Northern China. The artist's friend, Qin Xia introduced this artwork to me, however, I did not get a chance to meet the artist (it was too close to Chinese New Years when I visited, and the artist was already gone for the holiday). If it's popular, I am sure we'll get more on our next trip to Jinan, as well as a picture of the artist.
This artwork was taken by hand (rolled up in a tube inside my backpack) as I took a train to Beijing from Jinan. There I took it to our workshop, and it was built into a handmade silk wall scroll.
