Huáng Dì
This scroll features a horse in the foreground and the shadowy figure of Emperor Huáng Dì (the Yellow Emperor) in the background.
The Yellow Emperor had a great fondness for horses, inspiring a love of horses and horsemanship in Chinese culture for generations.
This is a giclee-printed reproduction. I believe the original painting dates back to the 1700s, but I don't have extensive information about it. The paper this is printed on was made and pressed by hand, and the silk wall scroll is handmade at my workshop in Beijing, China.
