A Gohonzon is an “object of devotion.” This is a Gohonzon is meant to be part of a Nichiren Buddhism altar.
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is written down the center of the Gohonzon in bold characters. The phrase is a fragment of the Lotus Sutra and expresses a vow to believe in our Buddhahood and take action in alignment with this vow.
On either side of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo are characters that represent the various positive and negative tendencies and energies within life. All such energies are intrinsic to life but harmonized by the law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, all reveal an enlightened aspect and function to create value and happiness.
This was printed on natural high-fiber paper with UV ink that should last 90 years. The print was built into a handmade wall scroll. While this is a very small scroll, but takes a lot of effort to make - I tried to price it as low as I could. Please carefully check the size before you order. If you want a custom Gohonzon, please contact me.
This Crazy Blue-Gold Silk can change color depending on how the light hits it.
The image above is from a different scroll - the one you are buying does not have the accent lines depicted above.
