Nam-myoho-renge-kyo Gohonzon

A Gohonzon is an “object of devotion.” This is a Gohonzon is meant to be part of a Nichiren Buddhism altar.

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is written down the center of the Gohonzon in bold characters. The phrase is a fragment of the Lotus Sutra and expresses a vow to believe in our Buddhahood and take action in alignment with this vow.

On either side of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo are characters that represent the various positive and negative tendencies and energies within life. All such energies are intrinsic to life but harmonized by the law of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, all reveal an enlightened aspect and function to create value and happiness.

This was printed on natural Japanese kozo (mulberry) unryu paper with UV ink that should last 90 years. The print was built into a handmade wall scroll. While this is a very small scroll, but takes a lot of effort to make - I tried to price it as low as I could. Please carefully check the size before you order. If you want a custom Gohonzon, please contact me.
