Reason for discount: This has a tiny paper flaw. It can only be seen if light hits the artwork at certain angles. This almost passed my inspection, so it's as close to perfect as any artwork can be, and end up in the bargain bin. This was painted by a master calligrapher. Value if perfect: $72.88

Below the large Peace character, there is an inscription in smaller characters that reads, "身和同往口和无诤意和同悦见和同解". This is the text from 4 of 6 tenets in a Buddhist guide to peaceful living. Here's the rough translation: Peaceful behavior leads to no offense; peaceful speech leads to no argument; peaceful spirit leads to sharing of the same mind; peaceful thoughts and opinions lead common understanding and knowledge.
