Hello, I found a painting I really want to buy, but I have to know that I will not pay tax. I read on this site that there has been no history in paying tax in europe, apart from one case, but these posts were old. Please let me know if something has changed, or if i can get the painting without tax.

Not much has changed. As long as we use our standard shipping service (which is air mail), there should be no tax (VAT or Duties).
The only times I've seen tax collected (in error) was via EMS to the UK twice. There was also one case in Italy when a customer insisted that I use their codice fiscale number (which is like begging to be charged tax). That's 3 tax collections in 10 years and 17,000 packages.
I have received no reports of tax being collected for packages that I send to Greece. However, Greece is obviously in a time of transition, so circumstances can change at any time.
Hand-painted artwork is duty-free in most countries. This is a big reason why tax is rarely collected upon delivery.
