Gary,

I have three more scroll mounting requests for my calligraphy. The last set turned out nicely. The sizes of the rice paper are 52"x13" (the one with a lot of characters), 21"x13" (white one) and 17"x13" (one with gold speckles like the larger one). Thank you so much for the service that you and your team in China provide.

Just checking. Made payment on PayPal, but didn't get the usual file number and mailing instructions.

Argh. Sent by FedEx. FedEx requested a commercial invoice which I sent to them on Thursday. They also called the Beijing number for your office, and ask them to send some paperwork saying that this is a personal item. (I used the code HS 97.01.10 and indicated that it was personal calligraphy for mounting.) Can you just let your Beijing office know. The FedEx tracking number is 662741651994 . Here is the FedEx link: https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/? ... 2741651994

Sorry for the inconvenience.

OK, will do.

FedEx does make things difficult for customers this way. Extra paperwork and higher cost. I usually just choose EMS (Express Mail) or regular Priority Mail International.

My friend at the Beijing international post office told me to just check the box for "documents" and then say it's Chinese calligraphy. Marking the origin as China guarantees that it does not get a second look from Chinese Customs.

Thanks. Will know for next time. After filling out a commercial export form, and your team in Beijing filling out a form saying that it was for my personal use (which it was because it will be returned to me once mounted), it was finally delivered to your Beijing shop today. :D
