Hi. Please consider adding a small audio clip of how to pronounce the words. See Dictionary.com for an example.

I like your idea. In fact, it's been on my extended "to do" list for a couple of years.

One issue is, all of the sound files that I know of are proprietary and/or copyrighted. The ones that are not copyrighted are of poor quality, and would be misleading.

So someday, I need to sit down with a native Chinese person, and record the nearly 1500 possible sounds and tones in Mandarin Chinese. That would be 1500 or so sound files to create.

One of the problems with just recording the individual character sounds is that they often sound different when blended into multiple-character words. So ideally, we need to make 4000+ recordings (one for each entry in our calligraphy database).

I actually want to do all of this, but it's just a matter of finding the time and allocating money and resources.
