Can you make us a scroll,,,

Post by vmatsuno » Aug 10, 2013 9:39 am

,,,incorporating Washi paper art purchased in Gokayama, Japan. The art image is 18"(W) x 24 3/4" (L), not including paper margins. I would send you the actual paper art to be mounted.

If you can make the scroll can you give me a rough estimate of costs, manufacture, assembly, s/h, etc. I can you a jpeg if you'd like to see the art.

Thank you for you time,

Yes, you just need to post an image of the artwork and measurements here. This is the general information you need about the mounting process:

Is that really Washi paper? It looks shiny like silk. I can still mount silk, but mounted silk will tend to wrinkle over time.

For this size, I can do it for around $50 (fancy options you select may increase the price from there). It's $9.80 for return shipping from China. You'd need to send the artwork to China yourself (I'll give you the address if you decide to place the order etc).

If you can mail it to me in San Diego, with delivery by Tuesday, I'll hand carry it to China for a $5 handling fee. I'm flying to China on Wednesday.

Let me know if you want to pursue this based on the above information.

I'm still very much interested.
And yes this is washi paper as opposed to silk. It's rich with the gold leafing and the composition and color is wonderful. Or so I think (like a mother with a small child, lol).

Anyway I will take it tomorrow and send it to you overnight delivery to your San Diego address. If for some reason it doesn't get to you in time for you trip you can make other arrangements.

Regarding the money how do you want to handle it. Paypal or check? Is the total amount you need $66.80 or do you want a deposit first? How long does the process take and about when should I approximately expect the scroll to be delivered?

You can actually follow this link and design your wall scroll just the way you want it:

Once you decide how you want it, add this to your cart, and checkout.

Right, I see saw the order. Awaiting your artwork arrival.

I appreciate your comment.

I really try hard to make the website easy to use. You actually had about 40,000 possible combinations of silk color, inner frame silk color, mounting, accent lines, fancy gold panels, etc. But I try to make that look like a few easy choices.

I wrote all the code and created all the graphics for that page, and it finally works well on a desktop, laptop, or tablet. I'm working on a compact mobile phone version.

Cheers,
-Gary.

Yes, I got it yesterday. It's sitting next to me as I wait at the gate for my plane to Japan (and on to China).

The gold on that paper is really vivid an interesting. I wonder how they did that, since the back is clearly Chinese xuan or Japanese washi paper.
