I found some charcoal tigers that slipped off my inventory list...
http://www.orientaloutpost.com/search.p ... coal+tiger

More coming in a few weeks when I get some pictures taken.

These were created long ago, and Mr. Wang is still "retired" (not making charcoal artwork anymore).

I don't want you to think that I have forgotten about you. At least, I haven't yet.

Those pictures are from a time that was about "two-hard-drive-meltdowns ago", so I need to figure out which backup CD-Rom they are on, etc.

A lot to look through, but I'll find it for you.

Not framed... I could have it framed for you, but this size would probably be $100 for the frame and a bit of extra shipping. You might be able to do better with framing, if you find a coupon and don't have to pay extra for shipping etc. I have to use acrylic glazing (instead of glass) when I ship a...

Wall scrolls live & breath, & will straighten themse

Unless you live in the tropics, that is not normally a problem. These wall scrolls are "alive" in a way. I mean that they breath and relax (just like you would do if you were rolled up for a while). I've had scrolls left rolled up for years, and when I unroll them, they might be a bit wavy. But 9 ti...

I'd start looking in a few weeks for them to re-appear on our website. I will try to remember to update this post. Also, I should mention that I have an 18" x 18" (45cm x 45cm) version of this painting available. The cost is a little over $50 each. I had a set made for a restaurant, and I had some e...

It has been painted, and is now being mounted.

In this case, "mounted" means laminating it to more sheets of paper to thicken it up a bit.

I think you were talking about this one: http://www.orientaloutpost.com/proddetail.php?prod=4bs-diaochan If you want a full set, the best way would be to commission and put one together for you. Probably 4 or 5 years ago, I used to offer sets, they did not sell well, and people always seemed to ask ...

I just used Google image search. I think I searched for "Chinese Ancestor Paintings".

The image is from here:

But that site does not seem to sell Chinese things.

Cheers,

No worries... There are plenty of good women in China that are looking for a nice guy. Just avoid Shanghai girls (they seem to care too much about how much money you make - in my experience). The rest tend to be more interested in you than your wallet. Oh, girls tend to be shorter and more tan in th...

I've been trying to get more, however I keep hitting the following problems: 1. The USPS smashed a bunch of scrolls like this recently, while they were enroute from China. 2. I keep having problems with paper flaws. The flaws are not obvious until the artwork is mounted to a wall scroll. White xuan ...

A new batch of artwork (including the title you want) is on the way from China now. We did some changes to the way we process the paper (all by hand) and it took a while to perfect. I didn't plan to run out of so many titles, but I am looking forward to the improved versions. I can't give you a cert...

That would be something interesting to do. I have not seen any, but that doesn't mean they could not be done. At the moment, I am looking for new warrior artists. The Monkey King would kind of follow the same category. However, I've just begun this venture to find new warrior artists, so we are mont...

Chinese Charcoal Tiger availability

Dragons are definitely not going to happen. The artist tried some a few years ago, but was not satisfied with them. They never saw the light of day, and to ask him again, would just cause him to lose face if he failed. Anyway, this artist has retired (although I am desperately trying to convince him...

How Chinese is written - horizontal and vertical issues.

Here's some background for you... In the most ancient form, Chinese was written vertically, from top to bottom. If there is more than one column, the column on the right is read first, and one then proceeds to read the rest following off to the left. Chinese can also be written horizontally. In the ...

The answers are: Probably. Depends on size, artist, and detail, but $100-200 is a ballpark estimate for each scroll. At least two months. We'd need a sketch or something to give the artist if possible. A Chinese violin is certainly different than a western one, so we can't call it traditional, but i...

I'm probably one of few that would get that reference to "Breaking Away". I raced bicycles on and off since I was 16. I am now a bicycle race announcer in San Diego. These are simply styles of the same character. You could even say that they are different "fonts" as these images that I have shown you actually came from Chinese and Japanese computer fonts that are available. So it's like writing the English word "Sword" but using a variety of fonts from Old Engli...

Not before Christmas for sure. I'm actually on the hunt for a new warrior artist. I want to have one that does a medium-priced, with medium-detail wall scroll for $88 and then a higher-level very-detailed style that would be $150-200 per wall scroll. I am trying to get some samples together now, and...
